Karana Wilson is a talented artist and Jui Jitsu enthusiast from the Northern Beaches of Sydney who wanted to decorate his Jui Jitsu ‘gi’ or jacket with a unique design.

Firstly he drew his design in lead pencil onto the back of the jacket, allowing for thin lines and areas of filled in colour.

The next step was to hand paint his design onto the jacket using PERMASET Jet Black ink.  He used a fine brush to paint the fine lines and then filled in selected areas with colour.  The design was tricky but PERMASET’S fluidity and opacity made it possible to adjust the line weight in the design.

Once the design was completed it needed to be heat cured to make the jacket rub, wash and dry-clean resistant.  There are a number of ways of curing the ink, which are outlined here in our PERMASET FAQs.

It worked out really well. PERMASET is an excellent product. I look forward to using all the available colors.” commented Karana after completing his jacket design.
