Hand Printed Linen Gift Wrap Project

9 Dec 2013 | 0 CommentsMy name is Jonna Saarinen and I am a Finnish born textile designer and screen printer working in London, UK. This year I wanted to prepare something different to wrap my Christmas gifts in, rather than the traditional paper that just gets ripped off and never used again.
I have been using Permaset and Permatone inks for years now to screen print my textiles, and though a fun way of brightening up my work would be adding some Xmas glitz with the Permaset Aqua Gold Lustre.
I printed my design on a high quality 100% linen tea towel first with a happy minty green and then the second layer in Gold Lustre, rather than Glow Pink that I normally use. After heat curing the tea towels and giving them a good steam iron to make them nice and neat, they were
ready to go, and now my nearest and dearest will receive their gifts in style (with an added Xmas tea towel thrown in as a bonus)!
